Q. What is Open and Distance Learning (ODL) Open Learning Programme(OL) ?
Ans: The University Grant Commission (UGC) In the context of a Higher Education promotion, Open and Distance Learning and Open Learning Programme(OL) lunched through selected Universities/Institutions and colleges working for Higher Education." This term refers to educational programs that allow students to pursue their studies remotely, often through online platforms, without the need for physical attendance at a traditional campus. ODL programs provide flexibility for students who may have other commitments such as work or family responsibilities. The OL programme is with the concepts of purely digitization of higher education with a reflection of Virtual Classroom setting education environment to learners for admission to evaluation. "OL program" in the context of Higher Education could refer to "Online Learning Program." These are academic programs offered entirely or primarily online, allowing students to complete coursework and interact with instructors and classmates virtually. Online learning programs offer convenience and flexibility, making education more accessible to students who may not be able to attend classes on campus due to geographical distance or other constraints. Open and Distance Learning reflects both the fact that all or most of the teaching is conducted by someone removed in time and space from the learner, and that the mission aims to include greater dimensions of openness and flexibility, whether in terms of access, curriculum or other elements of structure. Contributing to social and economic development, Open and Distance Learning is fast becoming an accepted and indispensable part of the mainstream educational systems.
Q. Do distance learning (ODL/OL) Programs and regular Programs offer the same value?
Ans: Yes! The students obtaining degrees under distance education are given the same level of recognition and value as offered by regular universities. In fact, no one can discriminate the students enrolled in distance learning and regular courses as per the notification issued by the UGC.

Open programme is recently launched by UGC as like as ODL programme which is fully digitized without boundary of learning.
Q. What is CDOE?
Ans. CDOE" stands for "Centre for Distance and Online Education." This is a department or unit within an educational institution that focuses on providing distance learning and online education programs.
Q. What is Directorate of Open & Distance Learning, Central University of Rajasthan, Bandarsindri, Kishangarh, Ajmer?
Ans. A Directorate established by Central University of Rajasthan, Bandarsindri, Kishangarh, Ajmer (within its main campus) especially for offering courses under Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode with prior approvals from different statutory bodies of the University and governing all the rules and regulations, publicized from time to time, by Distance Education Bureau, University Grants Commission (UGC-DEB), New Delhi.
Q. Is Directorate of Open & Distance Learning, Central University of Rajasthan, Bandarsindri, Kishangarh, Ajmer approved by UGC-DEB to offer courses under ODL mode ?
Ans: Yes, Directorate of Open & Distance Learning, Central University of Rajasthan, Bandarsindri, Kishangarh, Ajmer; under Category-I rules, has been privileged to offer courses under Open & Distance Programme(s), as per UGC’s public notification F. No. 1-8-2018 (CP-I) dated 12th Feb, 2018 and titled “Categorization of Universities (Only) for Grant of Graded Autonomy Regulations, 2018 ” clause 4.10: “University may offer courses in the open and distance learning mode, without approval of the commission, provided it satisfies all the conditions laid down under UGC (Open and Distance Learning) and amendments from time to time. ”
Q. Are the courses, being offered under ODL mode by CURaj, approved by UGC, New Delhi?
Ans: All the courses under Category-I autonomy provisions are approved by UGC, New Delhi vide UGC’s public notification F. No. 74-2/2014 (DEB-I) dated 18/10/2024. A copy of this notification can be accessed be following these links: http://odl.curaj.ac.in/
Q. When do Admissions under ODL mode commence usually?
Admissions under Open & Distance Learning usually commence mid of May every year and are made only during July session. However, no fresh admissions are made during January session.
Q. Are courses offered under Annual mode or Semester mode?
Ans: The University is offering six master degree programme and one bachelor degree programme under the permission UGC-DEB, New Delhi. All the courses under Open & Distance Learning mode are offered in Semester System with Credit Based Semester System.
Q. Is there any provisions for admissions (with late fee) once admissions are over?
Ans: No, once the admissions are over, the Directorate won’t allow any admissions even with late fee. However, if last date for admission under ODL mode is extended by UGC, New Del hi; the same will be applicable to Directorate of Open & Distance Learning, Central University of Rajasthan, Bandarsindri, Kishangarh, Ajmer.
Q. Is it mandatory to submit assignments?
Ans: As per policy of Directorate of Open & Distance Learning, Central University of Rajasthan, Bandarsindri, Kishangarh, Ajmer; it is Mandatory for all the candidates to take up and submit their assignments before the last week of commencement of end-term examinations during each-semester. If any candidate fails to submit his/her assignment on time or at all, he/she will not be allowed to appear in end-term examinations.
Q. Can I surrender my seat / cancel my admission after confirmation?
Ans: Any candidate (citing personal / financial or whatsoever reason) can surrender their seat by informing the Directorate in writing. The candidate will be refunded hi s/her applicable refund amount after deducting University charges, as prescribed by the University from time to time, and non-refundable charges (if any).
Q. Can I get details on all ODL related Academic Activities and their time schedule?

Q. What are the necessary documents for taking admission in ODL mode?
Ans: A list of requisite documents and admission process can be found in ODL admission handbook (available at Directorate’s Website)
Q. Is there any dedicated website and portal for students of ODL mode?

Q. Is there any provision for Self-Learning Material (SLMs) ?
Ans: Yes, Candidates are provided Self-Learning Materials in both soft format and printed format.
Q. How will I get information on various examination related updates?
Ans: Directorate posts all the examination and other necessary / mandatory updates on Directorate’s website. Candidates are also informed via email for critical information(s).
Q. What Programs are offered at CDL by CURaj.?
Ans. Postgraduate Programs i.e. MBA (ODL, 2 Yrs.) and B.Sc.(Computer Science), M.Sc.(Computer Science) (ODL, 2 Yrs.), MBA, M.A.(Hindi), M.A.(English), M.A.(Economics) and M.Com.
Q. What is the procedure and condition required for obtaining admission?
Ans. You may directly approach the office of DCOE or contact to our websites links that are given in the notifications and consult about the proceedings and formalities.
Q. What do I have to do after registration for new admission?
Ans. After registration you will visit office of CDOE for the counseling and verification of the details that you have submitted.
Q. How do we pay the admission fee?
Ans. Fee is payable only through the online payment mode using UPI/Net banking/Credit card/ Debit Card Etc.

Q. What do I do after the completion of admission formalities?
Ans. After completing the admission formalities, you may get academic calendar and Counseling schedule. You will get subject-wise assignments that to be submitted before the dead lines to the office of CDOE. The Examinations shall be held as per the academic calendar. You are advised to follow the information available on our website.
Q. What is the procedure of counseling classes?
Ans. Counseling Sessions as per the norms shall be held at CDOE, CURAJ. Campus only in Indore. These sessions are normally on weekends and as per pre announced schedule. It may be noted that the counseling sessions are not conventional classroom teaching. Lectures will be largely based on discussions which will help to overcome difficulties faced by the candidates while going through the study material. In these sessions candidates must try to resolve subject related difficulties if any. Before you proceed to attend the counseling sessions, please go through your study material and identify of the points to be discussed. The detailed schedule of the counseling sessions will be available on the CDOE Website. Counseling session will be organized in all theory / practical courses. Attending the counseling session is not mandatory, nevertheless is always in the interest of learner to attend these sessions.
Q. What is Duration of the Programs
Ans. For MBA and B.Sc.(Computer Science) and M.Sc.(Computer Science) Minimum duration of the Programme 2 years and all other master degrees in the discipline of Humanities and social sciences are also 2 years.
Q. What is Program Fee for MBA Program

Q. What Specializations are offered in MBA Program?
Ans. Presently CDOE is offering Specialization in following from Second Year of the Program Marketing/ Finance/ Human Resource /Business Analytics. M.A.(Hindi), M.A.(English), M.A.(Economics) and M.Com., master degree subjects are year wise admission, examination system adopted.
Q. What is Medium of Instruction: Hindi/English
Ans. Study Material will be provided in English and Assignments and Question Papers will be only in English (Preparing Now Hindi).

Q. How to submit assignments?
Ans. Assignments are a part of continuous evaluation system. The submission of assignments is compulsory. Assignments of a course carry 30% weightage in terms of marks. Assignments are designed in such a way as to help you concentrate mainly on the Self learning course material (SLM). However, access to other books and sources will be an added advantage in your academic pursuits. Assignments should be hand written. Typed or printed assignments shall not be entertained. For your own record, it is advisable to retain a copy of all the assignment responses. You have to submit the Assignments to the CDOE Office on or before the last date of submission mentioned in the Academic Calendar or as notified. Write your Name and Roll Number correctly and legibly on the Assignment Sheets.
Q. How to appear in Semester end Examinations.
Ans. Semester End Examination is the major component of the evaluation system and it carries 70% weightage in final result. You must fill in the Semester End Examination Form online through Exam Portal as per the instruction given on the website. The examination forms should be submitted on or before the last date mentioned in the Academic Calendar/Notice from the Director.
Q. How the evaluation takes place?
Ans. The evaluation consists of two parts: (i) Assignments (ii) Semester End Examination. In the final result all the Assignments of a course will carry 30% weightage while 70% weightage will be given to the Semester End Examination. If a student fails to qualify any component of a paper or a course, he/she can repeat the same during the subsequent Semester, up to the maximum duration provided for the Program from the date of registration. Q. Is any experience required to pursue ODL/OL Programs?
Ans. No, any person, who fulfills the eligibility conditions, can take the admission in ODL/OL programs. Centre for Distance and Online Education refer our website

It is digital mode programme from admission to evaluation we support digital mode but our Learning Centers will clear your doubts through classes face to face.
