My research interests majorly include novel anti-TB and antimicrobial scaffold discovery, elucidating mechanism of action of whole cell active molecules, exploring novel drug targets and combating drug resistance using small molecules. Over the years, I have developed expertise in High Throughput Screening (HTS) against enzymes as well as susceptible and drug resistant whole cell organisms (M. tb in particular), major drug discovery assays ranging from screening to in depth characterization of lead molecules, bio-assay standardizations and molecular biology work.
I am also interested in working on and developing technologies defining PK/PD profile of anti-bacterial drugs for making right selections for clinical trials, exploring new antigens for developing cost effective point of care TB diagnostics and innovatory biomedical technologies/applications improving upon existing healthcare systems against microbial pathogens.
Motivated research oriented candidates (B. Tech./M. Tech./Msc.) interested in intenships are welcome to contact during office hours.
Candidates interested to pursue postdoctoral reserach having their OWN fellowship or willing to apply for a postdoctoral fellowship (NPDF, Dr. D S KOTHARI etc) tenable at Universities with overlapping reserach interests are welcome to contact through email.
